On Saturday, October 24, forty-eight men gathered for men’s breakfast with guest speaker Scott Elgersma. After a breakfast catered by Country House Restaurant, Scott challenged men to prepare for the unexpected temptations in life. In his message entitled, “Having Guts in a Gutless World”, Pastor Elgersma offered words of encouragement and warning to those in attendance. Focused on the Biblical principles in Ephesians 6, men were challenged to live with purpose and avoid temptations by putting on the shield of faith and fitting their feet with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Such principles are needed in this world where distraction and temptation are around every corner. Those in attendance were able to fellowship with each other at their tables and prayed for one another as well. Commenting on the morning, church member Rick Stanson stated, “It’s always nice to see a group of men come together.” The sentiment seemed to be shared by many in attendance.
