Rev. Jeong and Misook Gho

imageJeong and Misook Gho belong to the Christian Reformed World Missions and work in Japan. Jeong and Misook grew up in Korea and they both served as teachers while living in Korea. In 1982 they left Korea in the hopes to become missionaries someday. Jeong and Missok have three children who were born in America. They raised their children in America for 15 years while studying and working on church planting. 

God led Jeong and Missok to Japan and they have been there for about eight years. Their vision for Japan is reconciliation and evangelism. Gho says, “Jesus came to the world to bring the message of reconciliation with God to sinners.  hroughout the history of Korea and Japan, there has been hatred, mistrust and looking down on each other. Without reconciliation in Jesus Christ, we can’t come to the table of fellowship, as Jesus Christ commanded us to do. Furthermore, without experiencing this reconciliation on the human level, we can’t go into the deeper spiritual level as the Gospel of Jesus Christ has taught us. We are involved in evangelism because we want to see real reconciliation taking place here in Japan.  We do this not in our own strength but because Jesus Christ our Lord enables us to do so through your prayers.”

Rev. Gho and his family visited our congregation on March 12, 2006. Rev. Gho presented PHCRC with a beautiful banner written in Japanese. Our congregation also presented the Gho family with a monetary gift in which they could go out a buy a computer. They later purchased an Acer Dual Core 8002 computer. Here are some of the things that Rev. Gho has done with the computer that he purchased:

* Translating ETA and some other reformed materials into Japanese. He has finished three ETA textbooks already, and is working with four other books.
* Making copies of Chinese computer Bible from Digital Bible Society for Chinese churches. Then he visits China, he takes his notebook and one master digital Bible that contains several Bibles in Chinese and English with about 200 good solid books for leadership. Then, in China, he buys blank CDs and makes copies of this digital Bible with the help of Chinese Christians. Rev. Gho is one of the registered distributors.
